This garage was overgrown and would have been a good candidate for the wrecking ball. Due to Richmond City setback and zoning codes if the building was torn down it would have had to be rebuilt in a less desirable location. To prevent moving the building we removed all the vegetation growing in, on and around the building. We tore out the roof, pulled in the sidewalls back to plumb as they were being pushed out by the collapsing roof. We added framing to walls, added and resized doors and windows. We rebuilt the roof and installed dimensional asphalt shingles. All cornice work was redone in maintenance free vinyl and the walls were stuccoed to match the home. A 16’ insulated garage door with automatic opener completes this curb side garage.
