Here is a final photo of a recently completed attached carport in Powhatan Co Va. We originally built this 26 x 28 garage in 2008 and the customer needed more space for their RV so we added this attached carport with a 12′ beam height. The carport has matching Hi definition GAF asphalt based shingles and double 4 dutch-lap Veriform siding to match the existing garage and home. All of the cornice is PVC coated aluminum and vinyl soffit for overhangs. Contact us for your next remodeling project for a free estimate.
Here is a progress photo of our latest Attached carport in Powhatan Va. The carport will measure 14′ x 24′ and will have a 12′ height to the bottom of the beam for the customers camping RV. The beams are doubled 2 x 10’s and will be attached to the pressure treated posts with steel gussets and 1/2″ galvanized lad screws. The kneewall that extends above the beam is attached to the existing side wall of the garage after the existing roof was removed for a direct point load. The beams will be wrapped in PVC coated aluminum for a matching, maintenance free look that compliments the existing structures on the property.

The attached carport was built with pressure treated post and conventional framing. Cornice work on the garage is matching cedar with seamless guttering. Roof materials for the existing home and carport are IKO dimensional 30 year shingles (http://www.iko.com). We installed an electrical package from D & D wiring that included two overhead dusk to dawn lights for the ceiling. Ceiling materials are solid vinyl soffit provided by Norandex Building Materials (http://www.norandex.com). The broom finished concrete for the carport was installed by OTG custom concrete (www.otgcustomconcrete.com). Finally we installed 6 x 6 at perimeter where the existing grade had to be altered for water drainage on the new concrete slab. Contact us for a free estimate on your carport or other projects.
